A broken window is two problems at once: a hole in your building, and glass where people walk. We clear it, secure the opening, and fit new glass once it has been cut to size.
The first job is making the house safe
When a pane goes, the instinct is to ask how fast it can be replaced. The more useful question is how fast it can be made safe, because those are different jobs and they happen in a different order.
Glass is cut to the opening, so a genuine like-for-like replacement is almost never same-hour work. What is same-visit is clearing the broken glass, taking the loose fragments out of the frame so nobody gets cut, and boarding or filming the opening so the building is closed.
Be a little careful of anyone who promises new glass within the hour. Either they are keeping a very narrow range of stock sizes, or the pane that goes in will not be the one your opening actually calls for.

Break-ins in California overwhelmingly favour ground-floor windows and sliding doors. After one, the glass is rarely the only thing damaged, and putting a pane back into a bent frame does not make it secure.

Not every crack has an impact behind it. Sun on part of a pane and shade on the rest can split glass on its own, and it is common enough here that people wrongly assume vandalism.

Can you replace the glass the same day?
Rarely, and we would rather be honest about it than promise otherwise. Glass is cut to your opening. What we can do quickly is clear the glass and secure the opening so you are not left open.
What does securing the opening involve?
Clearing broken glass, removing loose fragments from the frame so nobody is cut, and boarding or filming the opening until the replacement pane is ready.
Someone broke in through the window. Can you repair the frame too?
Yes, and you should. A new pane in a bent frame with a forced latch is not a secure window. We repair the frame and hardware alongside the glass.
Do I need tempered glass in the replacement?
If the original location requires safety glazing, yes. We identify that at the estimate and supply the correct glass rather than the cheapest.
Will you provide documentation for a claim?
